Mandatory e-invoicing from 1 Jan 2027

You issue the invoice.
We deliver it and report it.

From 1 January 2027, VAT payers in Slovakia send invoices to businesses electronically via the Peppol network and report their data to the Financial Administration (Finančná správa). Non-VAT payers must be able to receive them. In efakturia you issue the invoice just as before, and we take care of the format, delivery and reporting. No monthly fee.

Where you are now

Both paths lead to the same app. Only the first five minutes differ.

Just starting to invoice, or switching from elsewhere?

I'm invoicing for the first time

  • We load your customer from the register by Company ID (IČO), so there is nothing to retype.
  • We fill in the invoice number, VAT and due date according to your settings.
  • You send the finished invoice via Peppol, or by email as a PDF with a payment QR code.
Issue your first invoice

I already invoice elsewhere

  • Type in your last issued number (FV2026001, 2026/0143, 0143/2026, FV26001…) and the series carries on seamlessly.
  • You bring over your customers and past invoices from a CSV export.
  • Old numbers stay exactly as they are — nothing gets renumbered.
How switching works

Both paths cost the same — €0.15 per sent or received document, no monthly fee and no commitment.

Your first 10 documents are free to try — every new account gets the credit, no card and no commitment.

Not a VAT payer? You don't have to issue e-invoices, but you do have to receive them

Steps

Six steps from sign-up to a paid invoice. You do the first two once, the rest is everyday work.

How to use Efakturia

  1. 01

Fill in your company and number series

Enter your Company ID (IČO) and we fill in the name and address from the register. Start from one, or type in the last number from your current app and we carry on from it.

  2. 02

Choose us as your digital postman

You select us in the Financial Administration (Finančná správa) portal and we then register your company in the Peppol network. Your identity is verified by the state, so we don't need any documents from you.

  3. 03

    Issue an invoice

We find your customer by Company ID (IČO) and fill in the number and due date. You add line items and see the VAT and the amount due.

  4. 04

    Send it to your customer

Either by email as a PDF with a payment QR code, or via the Peppol network as a structured e-invoice — in that case the data is also reported to the Financial Administration (Finančná správa).

  5. 05

    Track payment

Once you upload your bank statement, payments are matched to invoices by variable symbol. Payment reminders after the due date can go out automatically once you turn them on.

  6. 06

    Receive invoices from suppliers

Those from Peppol arrive on their own. One that comes by email you upload as XML (UBL, ISDOC) or PDF and we read the data from it.

How it works

From invoice to the Financial Administration — automatically

  1. 1

    Issue the invoice

Fill in the details, we add the Company ID (IČO) data automatically. Efakturia creates a structured e-invoice in the EN 16931 standard.

  2. 2

    We deliver it via Peppol

We send the invoice through a certified Access Point and the Peppol network delivers it straight into the customer's system.

  3. 3

Automatic reporting to the tax authority

The invoice data is reported to the Financial Administration (Finančná správa) automatically; the obligation is fulfilled by handing the invoice over to the delivery service. You can see the delivery status on every invoice.

For companies with SAP / ERP

We deploy a lightweight connector that links your SAP directly to Peppol. The same legal outcome as SAP DRC — for a fraction of the price and without a new SAP licence.

Running SAP or a large ERP? No need for the expensive DRC module.

  • No SAP DRC licence
Peppol BIS 3.0 and automatic reporting to the tax authority without buying an expensive native module.
  • Data never leaves your network
The connector runs on-premise in your infrastructure. Only the finished Peppol XML invoice goes out, over encrypted HTTPS.
  • Reuses your existing IDocs
If you already use EDI / IDoc INVOIC, the connector reuses them — minimal changes to SAP.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Peppol and why do I need it?

Peppol is an international network for exchanging electronic documents in the standardised UBL 2.1 / EN 16931 format. Invoices are sent into it by a certified postman (Access Point) — we take care of that for you. From 1 January 2027, e-invoicing is mandatory for domestic B2B transactions under Act No. 385/2025 Coll.

Is e-invoicing really mandatory from 2027?

Yes. Under Act No. 385/2025 Coll. (an amendment to the Slovak VAT Act), structured e-invoicing is mandatory for domestic VAT payers in B2B transactions from 1 January 2027. The data is also reported to the Financial Administration (Finančná správa) — the delivery service does this for you, and the obligation is fulfilled by handing over the invoice. Non-compliance can result in fines.

What is the difference between a PDF and an e-invoice?

A PDF is just a visual document. An e-invoice (UBL 2.1) is structured XML that the recipient's accounting system reads automatically. With efakturia.sk you get both.

Can I also invoice customers in the Czech Republic?

Yes. We load Czech customers by Company ID (IČO) from the ARES register and deliver the invoice via Peppol if they are in the network, or by email as a PDF with XML. For every invoice you can also download the Czech ISDOC format. However, we only register Slovak companies with a Slovak Tax ID (DIČ) in the Peppol network, because we are an intermediary of a Slovak provider.

How much does one invoice cost?

You pay €0.15 per document — the same for sent and received. No monthly flat fee and no plans: you top up your credit in advance (at least 5 €) and the price of each document is deducted from it. A month without invoices costs nothing. Unused credit does not expire. Until 31 Oct 2026 we are not VAT registered and prices are final. From 1 Nov 2026, 23 % VAT is added (a document is €0.15 excl. VAT, €0.1845 incl. VAT).

Can I connect efakturia.sk to my accounting software?

Yes. A REST API and webhooks are included at no extra cost. We also support Pohoda XML export for direct import into your accounts.
